Team Purpose
The purposes of the Meridian Swim Association include: Promote excellence in competitive swimming in the Meridian, Mississippi area, organize and develop a swim team to compete in meets approved by the Meridian Swim Association, Inc., sponsor swim meets, develop physical fitness and moral character in the youth of the community, affiliate with USA Swimming and Mississippi, Inc., the Local Swimming Committee for Mississippi, follow the rules of the USA Swimming and Mississippi Swimming, Inc., and for related purposes.
To Join Our Team
Any person may try out for the MSA swim team. The swimmer must be able to swim one (1) length of the pool, unassisted. To schedule an appointment to try out, please call Coach Karen @ 601-678-8598.
Once the coach has determined that the swimmer has been successful in the try out, the following criteria must be filled out and paid:
· MS Swim Registration form and insurance fee
o $50 payable to MS Swimming
· MSA Registration form and fee
o $50 payable to MSA
· MCC Registration fee for sessions at MCC
o $60 billed on your statement
· MSA first month fees (according to level of swimmer)
This must be returned before the swimmer can attend practice. You will be able to write one check for the total due.
Please check with the registrar for MSA if you are unsure of totals.
MISSISSIPPI SWIM REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE
A Mississippi swimming registration form must be filled out prior to allowing the swimmer to swim on the team. This form, along with a non-refundable registration fee of $50 should be given to the registrar on the MSA board. The registrar for MSA is Kim Crenshaw.
This registers the swimmer to participate in meets and also covers the swimmer and the team with insurance.

MCC – Meridian Community College Damon Fitness Center
Fees: MSA swims 2 semesters at MCC. Each fee is $60 per swimmer. These fees are assessed by MCC not MSA.
The fall fee will be added to your statement in September and the spring fee in January. There will be NO discount on the MCC semester fees.
While at MCC, all swimmers must have a current ID card.
Please fill out the ID form at the Damon Fitness Center. ID photos are made in the Security Office located in the Ivy building. ID cards should be left at the front desk upon signing in. In order to verify your swimmers attendance at the practice facility, your swimmer MUST sign in/out at the front desk and coaches will take attendance.
At the beginning of each session, paperwork will be filled out and ID badge will be paid for upfront. Please contact MSA Registrar for information.
